What do we do in Birmingham and Solihull?
The Aimhigher Learner Progression Framework (LPF) gives learners access to many activities throughout their journey towards higher education. Schools and colleges use Aimhigher funding to impact on learners' aspirations, motivation and exam results, and to give them opportunities to experience higher education at first hand via campus visits, masterclasses and other taster days. Every maintained secondary school and further education or 6th form college in Birmingham and Solihull receives Aimhigher funding and has a named coordinator for Aimhigher activities.
Local universities, working together as the Aimhigher HEI Alliance, offer a wide menu of campus-based activities, including residential events. They also reach out to learners in schools, colleges and training providers, with visiting speakers, workshops and UCAS support sessions, as well as intensive mentoring support from trained under-graduates working as Aimhigher Associates.
