Aimhigher provides funding for maintained secondary schools, Further Education and 6th Form Colleges across Birmingham and Solihull, enabling them to provide a wealth of activities and support interventions for learners. Each school or college identifies a named coordinator who is responsible for their institution’s use of Aimhigher funding, and for submitting plans and reports.
Over the coming months this section of the website will be developed into a toolkit for local Aimhigher coordinators, with information and good practice guidance on identifying and targeting Aimhigher learners, understanding the range of local, regional and national Aimhigher opportunities available, planning progressive programmes of activity and evaluating their impact. This development builds on the outcomes of a consultation exercise undertaken with 8 schools, 3 colleges and all 5 local Higher Education Institutions during 2006 / 07.
A copy of the report has been sent to all local secondary schools, Further Education and 6th Form Colleges, and can also be downloaded here.
Aimhigher Birmingham and Solihull would welcome further comments on the issues and recommendations identified in the report. Please take the time to let us know what you think by clicking here
